Year One Autumn Curriculum (Open to all)
The seminar examines the meaning of virtue and the consequences when an individual’s sense of right and wrong clashes with that of society. Participants will read Sophocles’ play, Antigone; the Apology and the Crito, two Platonic dialogues about the trial of Socrates, his imprisonment, and his execution; and Dostoevsky’s famous novel, Crime and Punishment.
